Elany is the Community Project Coordinator at OneReef, where she executes community-driven reef and marine conservation programs. Her work focuses on engaging youth, preserving traditional fishing knowledge, and promoting sustainable practices that strengthen Palau’s cultural heritage, food security, and environmental resilience.
Raised in a fishing family, Elany draws inspiration from her parents’ teachings on stewardship and respect for the ocean. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations, blending cross-cultural skills with her passion for conservation.
In 2024, she served as Cultural Liaison aboard the E/V Nautilus during the Lebuu’s Voyage I deep-sea expedition in Palau. Beyond her professional role, she enjoys fishing as both a cultural practice and personal pastime.
