Michael is the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Specialist for the Kiwa Initiative’s regional MiCOAST project, which he helped design. With 30+ years advancing marine stewardship across Micronesia and Southeast Asia alongside communities, local governments, and regional networks—including the Pacific Islands Managed and Protected Areas Community (PIMPAC) and the Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) Network—he develops and implements strategies that strengthen policy and compliance and help local teams turn data into decisions that deliver measurable gains in biodiversity, food security, livelihoods, and climate resilience.
